FAQ

How are your fees structured – is billing done in advance, on an hourly basis, or as a package price?

Our fees are based on the scope of the services requested and the complexity of your tax situation. Unless otherwise agreed, billing is on an hourly basis. We value transparent pricing and are happy to discuss a customized quote with you. The best way to do this is to schedule an appointment for a free consultation.

How can I book an appointment?

Feel free to use our booking tool (link). You can easily book an appointment here: for an initial introduction, to discuss any questions you may have, or to get a feel for how we might work together. I look forward to supporting you on this journey. Note: All our meetings are currently held online via Zoom/Microsoft Teams. These are simple video conferencing tools. You will receive the link in your confirmation and reminder emails.

I would like to change my tax advisor – can I do that at any time?

Switching tax advisors in Austria is generally possible at any time. However, you must observe the contractually agreed notice periods, which are usually found in the General Terms and Conditions of Business (AAB). If you are no longer satisfied with your current collaboration, switching is perfectly legitimate.
Important note: Ensure that all outstanding fees are paid. Your previous tax advisor has a right to retain your documents as long as there are unpaid invoices. A clean settlement saves both sides unnecessary trouble and allows for a smooth transition to your new tax advisor.

By when must tax returns be filed in Austria?

When filing electronically via FinanzOnline, the tax return must be submitted by June 30 of the following year at the latest. If you are represented by a tax advisor, you fall under the quota system, which extends the filing deadline for your tax return.

I have been with my tax advisor for many years. Why should I switch?

Long-term loyalty is valuable, but it should also pay off for you. If you feel that your potential is being wasted or that your taxes are merely being managed rather than optimized, it is worth taking a second look. In a no-obligation initial consultation, we can show you whether a switch makes financial sense for you. You can then decide at your own pace.

Is switching advisors a lot of work for me?

No, we handle the vast majority of the work. Switching tax advisors in Austria is possible at any time, provided you observe the notice periods specified in your service agreement. We will organize the transfer of your documents to ensure a smooth transition. The only important thing is that any outstanding fees with your previous advisor are settled, as they have a legal right to retain your documents until payment is made.

What happens if I am selected for a tax audit?

We will be right by your side. We prepare your documents, support you during the audit, and handle communication with the tax office so you can focus on your business.

By when do I need to send or upload my accounting documents to you?

In Austria, quarterly VAT returns (for businesses with annual revenue under €100,000 in the previous year) are due on the 15th of the second month following the end of the quarter.

1st Quarter (Jan–Mar): May 15 – ideally uploaded by April 15
2nd Quarter (Apr–Jun): August 15 – ideally uploaded by July 15
3rd Quarter (Jul–Sep): November 15 – ideally uploaded by October 15
4th Quarter (Oct–Dec): February 15 – ideally uploaded by January 15 (of the following year)

If your revenue exceeded €100,000 in the previous year, you must submit VAT returns monthly. These must be filed with the tax office by the 15th day of the second month following the reporting period. For example, the VAT return for January must be submitted by March 15. Please ensure you send us your documents in good time to avoid late filing penalties.

Can I come to you as a new founder?

We would be happy to. We support you from choosing the right legal structure and handling the registration to providing ongoing guidance, ensuring you are set up for success from the start and don't leave any potential on the table.

Do I have to pay extra for every phone call or follow-up question?

No, you don’t need to watch the clock every time you have a question. We clearly define the scope of our collaboration in advance so you can reach out whenever you need to. Fee transparency is important to us: you will always know what you are paying and what you are paying for. In Austria, quarterly VAT returns (for businesses with annual revenue under €100,000 in the previous year) are due on the 15th of the second month following the end of the quarter.

“Numbers are our tools. We provide advice that goes beyond the numbers. We don’t just manage your taxes; we shape them and reclaim what is rightfully yours.”
